Covenant Men of
God
Covenant Men of God : Acts 2 : 17-18 ' And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour
out my Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your
old men shall dream dreams, And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in
those days and they shall prophesy.
As Covenant Men of God, it is important that we recognize the Lords activity in our childrens lives as well as
our own. For His plan and purpose for us extends with our children. He has entrusted us as earthly fathers
with the children He has given us. Let us all instill in our children the Word that God has put in you.
The Worlds Greatest Dad
Every parent deems themselves worthy to wear the Hat or the Shirt that says “Worlds Greatest Dad” or # 1 Mom or
Grandpa or Grandma. Even if our precious child didn’t get us one for Fathers Day or Mothers Day, than we just bought one
for ourselves. Because we deserved it and it holds true to the one who wears it.
My name is Matt and I am the Worlds Greatest Dad. My friend Darren thinks he is. His son Darren Jr. and my son Matt Jr. are
best friends. My son is 2 months younger than his son who just turned 18 last week, same day as the High School
Graduation. I had called up Darren last week and Invited him to church with us. For my son and I have a great love and
relationship for our savior Jesus Christ. But Darren said he and his boy were playing with his sons Brand New Mustang that
he just got him for his 18th Birthday. He always made excuses not to come to church. He was very good at it to. He usually
would say he just got his son a gift and they’re working with the new toy or whatever. But this time he had gotten his son a
brand new car.
Darren was always finding ways to give his boy the best of the best of everything. Him and I had a quiet competition as to
who could out do who in being the “ Worlds Greatest Dad”. This time with Darren getting Darren Jr. a brand new car. I knew
I had work to do. After Church that day Darren jr. came driving up in his shiny new Red Mustang. My son looked out the
window and was so excited for his friend started screaming and shouting for joy as he ran out of the house to congradulate
him on his new prize. I knew my son was thinking big now. In two months he would be 18 too. Darren jr. Showed me his
new ride and all the toys in it. Power everything , the engine was the fastest you could get. What A RIDE !! I wanted one
myself.
Before I knew it, the two Jr.s were off in the Worlds Greatest Car. How cool would they be now? Sporting the ride, both
handsome and witty boys. Going on a spin to show off the great gift. And I knew my son, now had hopes of having one just
like it. And me with hopes of having one just like it to. I went straight to the phone and called Darren and I congratulated him.
What a Great Dad he is, I thought to myself. As I went about the day looking through papers and surfing the net for nothing
other than new cars. Thinking on how Me and my son Matt Jr. could out do Darren and Darren Jr, still on my quest to remain
the Worlds Greatest Dad.
A few hours later I received a knock on the door. It was the police who had come to tell me that my son had just been
pronounced dead at the Community Hospital. A fatal car accident had killed both Dustin Jr. and Darren Jr. And I was being
taken to identify my sons body. I couldn’t think straight and I was in shock, unbelief. Feelings and thoughts that I never knew
existed were now in my head and I was inside, dead to the world. We got to the hospital and I went in the room. I looked at
my sons face. A peace on it. He was in peace and from this peace came life and peace into me. I knew. I knew that my son
knew his savior. I cried and cried. The Tears were soaking my sons pale face and mine as I was hugging him. Now his hair
drenched in my tears and my face puffy and red, my wife grabbed me and pulled me away. We embraced each other on the
floor for a while. As we left the hospital I saw from the hallway Darren sr. sitting on a chair crying. I went and hugged him
and cried with him for a while to. I asked him as I wept “did he know Jesus? did he know Jesus?”, he wept and
repeatedly replied “ I don’t know, I don’t know”. As I walked away I had noticed his shirt “Worlds Greatest Dad “. The Worlds
Greatest Dad didn’t give his son the Gift that he now needed. The only Gift that ever really mattered. He gave his child life
and never told him that he could have eternal life with Jesus, before he died.
Any Dad out there I ask you now. Does your son or daughter know Jesus. Have you given them the greatest Gift. The Lord
sent down “The Gift”, Jesus Christ, and WE as parents have been given the responsibility to tell OUR children. We can only
be the Worlds Greatest Dad if we have raised our child to know, love and accept Jesus. Otherwise we as parents
accomplice nothing. Mothers and Grand-Parents this is your responsibility as much as the fathers.
The Greatest Father in Heaven sent his Son Jesus. To save you and your children.
So I ask you now “ Does your child really know Jesus and has your child accepted Jesus into there heart as there own
personal savior”. Can you really wear that shirt?
If you don’t know, tell them now. To be a Great parent you must give them this word - John 3:16 “For God so loved the
world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not parish, but live with Him forever in
heaven”. You must make sure they know and accept Him.
Give the Gift Sincerely, Formerly : “The Worlds Greatest Dad”
